The Brief: handmade grunge
The Cover: This cover represents the feeling of a pain grown from love. It’s calling them and hanging up before it rings, then working up the courage to call again and having it go to voicemail. Thinking of all the things you’d say that you never will.
The Process: I love hand drawing covers and this one was super fun. I’d had an idea for this little ghoul in my head all day. When I got the call from The Wolfcuts, I knew exactly why.
The client had sent me a few photos of different flowers to somehow use in the art. I felt using that personal element was really important, so I incorporated them in a way that matched the handmade style.
I went through a few variations for this project, but ultimately decided on using a deep green and gold to incorporate more of the clients imagery.
