Forged in the surf-rock-saturated crucible of Wollongong, Proxy Diver hit the scene in late 2023 with a raw, heavy twist on grunge and shoegaze that ditches the coastal clichés. Founded by Beau, who posted a callout on a local Facebook page to launch something unapologetically loud and different, Proxy Diver quickly assembled a powerhouse line-up: Beau on rhythm guitar and vocals, Bill on drums, and Adam on bass. This trio brings relentless energy, channelling influences from Helmet, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Deftones into music that’s visceral, chaotic, and as vivid as it is raw.

Their breakout moment came at Wollongong's legendary Dicey Riley’s, where their cover of Violent Soho's "In the Aisle" had fans screaming back every word. From that night forward, Proxy Diver knew they were more than a garage band. With live shows that feature chaotic stage dives and circle pits, they’ve turned heads alongside Adelaide’s Colourblind and TOWNS and even made waves with youth hardcore fans at local gigs.

Proxy Diver’s debut EP, Sleep Dies Young, captured a journey from darkness to hard-won hope, weaving heavy riffs and haunting melodies into a sound that evolves with each track. Their next album is set to push their sonic boundaries even further, infusing experimental elements while staying true to the grit that defines them.
